I am currently working on my Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at The University of Rochester.

I was invited to speak at the 2014 TEDxFlourCity event which was centered around the topic of listening. There were many amazing guests who spoke about topics including Trans Rights (Noah Wagoner), Implicit Bias (Melanie Funchess), and Rape Culture (Erin Kate Howard, Marcy Savastano, Beth Winslow).

I gave a talk that was arguably less important regarding social issues, but is still something I believe in — that we should not take the quality of the music and sound around our lives for granted. If we settle for “good enough” from our streaming providers, we are not getting the full experience of audio and music.

If you wish to mess around with the audio files, or use the Powerpoint/PDF for your own teaching, please find it at the link below. The only thing I ask is that you cite my work when presenting!

Thanks for listening!
